Claire Whitehead is a dually board certified nurse practitioner with specialties in psychiatry and family practice. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Claire is skilled in psychiatric assessment and diagnosis and can provide medication management and psychotherapy. She completed undergraduate training at Tulane University in New Orleans and nursing school at Columbia University in New York. With over 15 years in advanced practice nursing in cardiology and emergency medicine, Claire returned to school at the University of Texas at Austin for post master’s training in psychiatry due to an interest in mental health and substance use treatment. She is passionate about providing holistic and personalized care. When not in the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family, travelling to new and familiar places and listening to live music.
